We all know that link building is crucial for getting good rankings in the search engines, but unfortunately link building can be seriously hard work.

I wasted so much time getting useless links to my site

Personally, I'd been trying various methods for getting links back to my websites for years. Over that time I became increasingly frustrated that the 'big dogs' seemed to be able to do it with ease, and yet here I was struggling away.

Here's a little on my story (it gets good at the end I promise)...

First I tried... 'Reciprocal Linking'

This is basically link swapping. I put a link on my website to your website, and you return the favour.

This was popular for a while, and maybe it worked for some people in the early days, but it doesn't work much anymore and it certainly didn't work for me.

Somehow Google and the other search engines quickly disregarded these links, so for the purposes of improving my website ranking in the search engines it achieved nothing :(

Next I tried... '3 Way Linking'

This is more clever link swapping. I link to website A, they link to website B, and website B links to me.

It's less direct than reciprocal linking, and the results were a bit better - but only for a while. Google and friends seem to show little value for this method either.

I guess it wasn't too long before the Googlebot noticed a pattern.

Next I tried ... 'Article Marketing'

Now I must say, this one did actually work, and still does.

I still use and I would still recommend it, but it has some drawbacks, namely, it takes more work.

You need to write the articles (time costly) and then post them to various article directories (time costly), or just pay someone to do all of that for you (cash costly).

As I said it does work because they are true one way links and they are relevent.

It's just not the most efficient way to do things...

Now, Now I do this for link building ... and it works amazingly well...

For getting thousands of links to my websites, I now concentrate on Linkvana. 

The links are very high quality, and superbly easy to obtain.

Best of all it is super efficient - the amount of time I dedicate to link building now is tiny.  About 15 minutes a month ... maybe ... on a bad month.

It is single handedly one of the greatest contributors to my business today.
